Here are some photos from our trip to San Francisco! We had a great time with my Aunt Diane and Uncle Del! They are wonderful hosts and my kids are convinced that Uncle Del is the best cook on the planet! He does make some pretty darn good food! :)
We spent 2 days in the city of SF showing Julie the sights and enjoying them ourselves. We definitely took a more slow pace this time around since I had a fair amount of pain, but we still managed to see tons of sights!
this is one of my favorite pictures... this is a GORGEOUS, CLEAR picture of the golden gate bridge! Isn't it lovely? well, that's about the most we saw of it the whole time we were there! We've caught it on a good day before, but Julie didn't get to see it. We were bummed it never showed itself. (but seriously, if you look closely enough and use your imagination you can almost see it!)
Here is Lombard Street (the crookedest street in the world!) This was looking back up at it after we drove down it.
Here is another picture of the foggy conditions with Coit Tower in the background and the beautiful tree lined street!
Here are the boys in front of "Postcard Row" or the famous painted ladies. There is a great park across the street that we played at for a while.
If you've never heard of the Stinking Rose, it is a famous restaurant in little Italy that is a "garlic restaurant" It's a good thing we ALL ate there because then we didn't notice each others horrific garlic breath! It was delicious and garlicky!!! As you can see on their sign, it says they season their garlic with food :)
We spent some time at China Beach, which on a clear day, has a beautiful view of the Golden Gate bridge, but it was still a great beach for the boys to play on, got to watch a few surfers (through the fog) and enjoyed the ocean!
A trip to San Francisco isn't complete without a visit to Ghiradelli square! We enjoyed some amazing hot fudge sundaes! YUMMMMMM!!
The Hard Rock Cafe ...just a photo opp :)
We spent a little time walking around Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39.... looking in the shops, checking out the 100's of sea lions and looking at Alcatrez.
No trip, anywhere...in our family, is complete without a trip to Starbucks. I thought this was a cool picture... just Camden drinking his 'latte' at Starbucks in San Fran.
The highlight of Julie's trip, and I think the boys enjoyed it too... was the Cable Cars! We rode it for about 40 minutes. It was fun, Hudson held on for dear life, and Camden wanted to be hanging off the edge... there sure are some steep hills!!!
on our second day in the city we had lunch at the Boudin sourdough bread factory. Mmmm... clam chowder in a sour dough bread bowl. so San Francisco!
That's it in a nutshell. We spent lots of time at my aunt and uncles eating, playing the wii and enjoying company too, but didn't seem to get the camera out for any of that :)
